Show available VNCViewer Personnel as different color

Post by daveschade »

When a user open the executable to show available Support prsonnel (those running the Viewer application) It would be nice if the list of names of those available to help showed Green for any that were actually running the Viewer app and Red for those that were not.
This would indicate to users whether the person they needed help from was available. Currently they click a name and hope someone answers.

Example

Bob Smith - MS Word Assistance <(indicates that Bob is NOT running the Viewer App)
Cindy Jones - MS Excel Assistance <(indicates that Cindy IS running the Viewer App)
Ron Green - MS Powerpoint Assistance (and Ron is not)

I would think that since the executable knows the information to connect to each of these users, that some sort of a quick "heartbeat" check upon app startup could determine if those IP addresses/computernames were able to answer a request. This would not necessarily need to be dynamic, just a one time check on app startup to see who was "currently" available.
