I have been trying to log onto a remote site with my standard password and after a number of attempts "Too many security Failures" message appears... even after leaving it for more than 2 days. How do I recofigure the Veiwer my end or is it a Server setting on the other end? I have looked through the forum and done a search but this message does not come up.
Thanks
Nev

Too many security failures
Re: Too many security failures
you don't found anything here because your error message is not related to UltraVNC but related to maybe, another VNC flavor or to your security policy authentication credential of your remote windows/domain/active directory
uvnc 1.0.2 at both side + classic VNC authentication
volontary failed 6 wrong password and report is:
"VNC authentication failed!"
after waiting too long time before input password (>30 sec) or too fast reconnection
"Your connection has been rejected."
OS and UltraVNC viewer build ?
OS and UltraVNC server build ?

Re: Too many security failures
Hi Redge
I will need to check this with the technician. I am 1600km from the site and will ask the tech next week for the info. On my end I am using the latest download of UltraVNC Reader with XP2.
Thanks
Nev

Re: Too many security failures
Hi Regde
Thanks for that. The Technician told me that you must have the same versions of vnc at each end. That supports your message.
Thanks
Nev

Re: Too many security failures
half true... (tested right now)
at vnc server: (administrator of real vnc server 4.2.6 enterprise edition should do: )
real vnc server ... Options... tab security...
require "prefer vnc authentication encrypted off for support any old vnc flavor based VNC 3.3 (including UltraVNC viewer 1.x.z, TightVNC )
less secure but allow old VNC viewer.
Should really better for you to use same real vncviewer as of rela vncserver build release
at vnc viewer side:
open task manager... tab processes ... select vncviewer.exe ... end process.
then you able to start again vncviewer and connect immediately without waiting timeout of password.

Thanks Redge
