about repeater

Post by easylife »

if repeater and vnc server installed on the same lan ,that's repeater mode 1, then use vnc viewer connect to the repeater through internet , what other thing to do wiht nat?

vnc viewer -> modem-------------->nat->repeater->vnc server

i cant connect repeater without nat configure.
if need nat configure port forwarding, why use repeater, only advantage is one port forwarding?

forward port 5901 to repeater
if you don't have static public IP, subscribe to service dynamic DNS and configure it inside your NAT/router provider for reach the WAN NAT/router

viewer ---> Internet --> NAT/router ---> repeater 5901 --> pc1 5900
viewer ---> Internet --> NAT/router ---> repeater 5901 --> pc2 5900
viewer ---> Internet --> NAT/router ---> repeater 5901 --> pc3 5900
viewer ---> Internet --> NAT/router ---> repeater 5901 --> pc4 5900

i cant connect repeater without nat configure.
you are right,

you are right and second advantage
you can reach vnc server with internal private hostname instead internal private IP
