Possible to launch remote links locally?

Post by Agrajag »

Guys,

I'm wondering if there's a way to get UVNC to let me trigger links and files on the remote system on the local machine.

For example, if on the remote machine I get an e-mail with a .mov file attached (which I get in RSS feeds all the time) I'd like to be able to have some way of telling UVNC to go ahead and launch that file but to send the request to the local machine. That way I'll get the video and audio at mostly full speed (as fast as the remote system can send it to the local machine).

Running it on the remote system is of little use as I get no audio and the video is, of course, too choppy to view. I have other files and such I'd like to do this with. I might want to launch a .DOC file and have Word on the Local system work with the file, or any number of variations like this one. I might have a URL that I want to launch in Firefox locally.

Is this at all possible? If not, is it a decent idea for a future feature?
