Palm VNC

Post by ich »

I know it's just a pipe dream since it looks like there hasn't been any development on Palm VNC for just about a year now, but I figured I'd throw it out since Harakan and PalmVNC are listed in the Copyrights for UVNC...

Anyway, I'd love to be able to take advantage of the UVNC repeater with PalmVNC since I have it installed and my PDA's connectable to the internet from just about anywhere as a last ditch emergency effort if no other technicians can be reached and I'm out of town...

Thanks for a great product guys!

You may want to check this PalmVNC version that already take advantage of some Ultr@VNC features (server screen scaling): http://palmvnc2.free.fr

Maybe the author would be ready to make the necessary modifs for the repeater...

Thanks Sam.
I found the Harakan site and the SourceForge site, but didn't run across that one.

PalmVNC is great. I have used it on my Sony TJ-37 and it works really well.

I would like to see File Transfer support implemented if possible.

Probably a dumb question, but is PalmVNC in active development any more?

It currently doesn't connect to UltraVNC with NT authentication, making it unusable on public networks. I saw these were reported on Sourceforge as bugs, but it has been nearly half a year since the last beta update, and more than two years since the last release version.

This is unfortunate, since VNC really blows away Windows RDP on a low-power device like my Treo 650.
