GUI Configurable Application Hooks

Post by g-man »

Currently the only way to change how VNC updates an application is to directly change the VNC Hooks in the Registry Editor.

This is a dangerous function to perfom by hand.

I need to do this so that students screens are updated based on "KeyPress" and/or "Timer" instances.

As I'm seeing more admin tool functions being made available in recent releases, I would love to see it expanded. Specifically, application level attributes for how VNC refreshes different application screens should available through the Administrative window of UltraVNC.

Also, is it possible to set the default for all new applications VNC Application hooks? It looks like most values default to "0" at this time unless I go in and update the application directly. Maybe this could be an option in the GUI too.

I'm currently fighting the MS fuddy's who are trying to push MSRemoteDesktop tools which are not available in Linux or MacOSX. The requirement to change some operation attributes through the Registry is thier soap box at this point.
