Enhanced fullscreen functionality

Post by darkfire »

I recently upgraded from v1.0.0 RC11 to RC18. I primarily use vnc on my laptop to connect with my server on a private lan. My laptop runs on 802.11g with a native resolution of 1920x1200 and let me say that it works quite well.

The new fullscreen implementation is excellent, allowing me to utilize all my screen real estate. There are times, however, that I would like to be able to readily switch between vnc and other applications without sacrificing much resolution. In RC11 when I maximized the screen it left my client taskbar visible and at a server resolution of 1920x1080, I could switch between apps, have access to both client and server taskbars, and take advantage of the full horizontal resolution. There was only a minimal amount of black space which I found to be no problem. Also, in the old mode, alt+tab could be used as normal, as opposed to the new fullscreen mode staying on top (which I like).

When not in fullscreen there are scrollbars which I find cumbersome and I do not want to lower horizontal resolution or use any scaling. I would love to see both of these fullscreen modes available in a future release. I feel both modes are invaluable for different reasons and would greatly appreciate the ability to readily switch between them.

Thank you

Zack
