Authentication Problem in 1.0.0!

Post by skipparoo »

Okay, maybe it's just me, but it seems there is a serious password problem in this release.

I am able to connect to remote hosts on my LAN by entering the password followed by any random characters. So UVNC is recognizing that the first part of the password string is valid so connects me to the host.

Can anyone else confirm this? Is this perhaps by design or is there an option I'm missing here?

Cheers

The rfb protocol only has 8 chars for password.
To stay compatible with old versions, only the first 8 chars are
used.

When you enable mslogon authentication, 32 chars are used.
