Problem with the remote PC's primary display when the remote PC and the local PC each have two monitors.

Post by SergeB »

Hi,
I've been using UltraVNC for many years.
I'm using version 1.6.0.0 on both the local PC and the remote PC.
Both PCs each have two monitors.
On the local PC, I can't see the entire primary screen of the remote PC, but only the top left corner. Therefore, I can't access the taskbar. There's also no scroll bar at the bottom and right side of the window.
I only see it when I display both remote screens at the same time with the "Select Full desktop / Switch monitor" button.
However, there's no problem with the secondary screen.
I've attached a link to the screenshot video.
Thanks in advance... Hoping you find a solution ;-)

However:
When connecting, the main screen appears in full and allows authentication.
Resolution of the two remote monitors: 2560 x 1440
Resolution of the two local monitors: Full HD: 1920 x 1080

Can you also provide the UltraVNC Viewer display settings?
There are a lot of options.

What do you want 2x 2K displayed on 2x HD resized or with scrollbars?
Are you using the DDEngine, should be indicated by the Viewer?

Thanks
Rudi

Hi,
Today I'm back at the office.
Since the "local PC" is a laptop, I only have its screen. However, yesterday, I opened the VNC Viewer on the second screen, which is a 22" screen, so it's larger and more comfortable ;-)
Today, when I open the VNC Viewer on my laptop, I have another problem (a solution that will also need to be found). The VNC Viewer opens... on the second screen (which is therefore missing) and doesn't switch to the laptop screen. So I don't see it and can't answer you yet.
Since I work in IT maintenance, I'm going to temporarily connect a second screen to my laptop to bring the VNC Viewer back to the laptop screen.
Another thing: what is the "DDEngine" and how do I check and/or install it?
For the display, I would prefer 2x 2K on 2x HD resized, as is the case for the second screen of the remote PC.
I forgot to mention that I have both screens of the remote computer on 2 of the 4 mini DP outputs of the NVidia Quadro P600 graphics card (I just checked)
bye

Yesterday, I opened the VNC Viewer on the second screen ... in "extended" mode and not in "duplicate" mode (I don't know if that's how it's called in English ;-).
