Re: UltraVNC without any password - possible?

If the key "AuthRequired" doesn't exist, you can creat it manually.

It is a DWORD, and give it a value of 0, will result the UVNC server accept No Password configuration.

UltraVNC abandoned the use of registry for holding its setting since ver.1.0.4.

Re: UltraVNC without any password - possible?

I need to use UltraVNC without a password, i followed your instructions and i dont find the ultravnc.ini, I even performed a windows search and nothing..

I am using UltraVNC 1.0.2

You are using 1.0.2, which is a very old version of UltraVNC.

Re: SecureVNC Plugin - AES, RSA, and more, for x86 and x64!

I guess it has to do with unicode and multi char.
If plugin and viewer use a different keyset, the internal representation of chars like ë é ç is different.

Then it is a wrong passphase issue, and the returned status s/b "Authentication Rejected"

How come it can result with the messege:

Re: 2 digit port numbers

Yes, both UltraVNC server and viewer are interpreting the port number in this way.

This may be has its purpose: to make it able run as the old VNC that using a parameter called Display Number (a 2-digit number). I'm not sure the exact meaning this parameter, but its syntax is the same as specifying ...

Running the "server" and "viewer" on the same PC should not cause any problem.
I use this method to test my SC.exe frequently.

The SC, since it was born, was designed to use a non standard RFB protocol, the UltraVNC viewer was coded to handle it. But this happened long long time ago, and the x64 ...

Re: Unable to figure out why SC is not connecting

There are several points you need to change/correct:

1. Inside the helpdesk.txt of your created .EXE file

[HOST]
HELP DESK - Dennis, double click HERE
-connect {FRIEND}.hopto.org:5500 -noregistry

The syntax of the statement is correct, but this had NOT configured using encryption.

The default setting of UltraVNC Viewer is saved at a file named "Options.vnc"

So with proper setting inside this file, the viewer will start with your preferred configuration. In your ...

The .vnc file is able to save the native VNC password only.

Re: Popup: This machine has been preconfigured...

Open the ultravnc.ini, check the setting

AllowProperties=

If its value is "0", an authentication-diabled server will bring up the said popup.

In this case, change this setting to "1" will solve the problem.

The "-sc_prompt", by its original purpose, is to trigger a prompt window at the listening viewer, if the server is making a reverse connection to that viewer.

So in my example, it is in fact doing nothing, since the connection is making to a repeater.

The "-multi" is the element to meet your ...
