Re: uvnc server loses connection
Are you sure the uVNC server is running as a service? Otherwise, it may disconnect when you log off. At least in my experience.

Re: Multi Host Viewer
You may want to look into Veyon:
https://veyon.io
If I understand correctly, you want to be able to view what's n the remote screens in real time? Veyon will allow you to do that, share your screen to another PC and take control of the other PC. It can integrate with AD for setting up roles, etc ...

Re: 1.3.3 dev 10
Thomas,
I will try your viewer out today. Been meaning to test it, but things have been hectic lately. I will let you know how it goes. We have a lot of edge cases here at the office the normal viewer has issues with, hopefully your version resolves some of those.

Re: options.vnc problem
The custom options are saved to a file as you stated, but it loads the standard one unless you specifically tell it to load the saved one via commandline:
vncviewer -config -5900.vnc
or whatever the name of the custom file is. You may have to specify the full path as well.

View-only and RDP Mode
Little issue here:
If you have view-only enabled along with RDP Mode and connect to a remote PC, you cannot choose the session to clone without first disabling view-only, choosing the session to clone, then re-enabling view-only.

Re: Server and Viewer INI File Contents
Is there any documentation on the INI file contents? Most things I have found out just by switching something on or off with the INI open in Notepad++ and seeing what changed. Feels like this->

LOL, that was just an example, but good to know it's still valid. I was just curious if there are any settings in either INI file that are no longer used but haven't been removed for one reason or another.

Server and Viewer INI File Contents
Rudi,
Just wondering if everything that is put into the ini files upon their creation by the server and the viewer is still used or not? There are still some things in there undocumented as well, or at least I couldn't find any information.

Re: What Files to use with UVNC server EXE
From my experience the server and viewer will work fine without any of the other DLL files, but the performance is greatly improved if the ddengine dll is with the server. I have a small uVNC frontend I wrote that copies the following files to a remote computer using paexec:
ddengine64.dll
schook64 ...
ddengine64.dll

Re: Issue with remote viewing of certain Apps & Functions
There was mention somewhere in the forum of a similar issue. I believe a monitor has to be connected and turned on for the display to work with uVNC. Rudi would be the best to answer that though, sorry

Re: Issue with remote viewing of certain Apps & Functions
You can just stop the server service or application, add that line in the ini file and restart the service or rerun the app, it should work properly then.

Re: Issue with remote viewing of certain Apps & Functions
Make sure the option for 'Capture Semi-transparent windows' is enabled on the server side. At least for me that was the issue in the past with Firefox and other applications.
In the server ini file there should be an entry:
CaptureAlphaBlending=1
That will turn it on, not sure if there's a GUI way ...

Re: 1.2.3.0 preview
Rudi,
Just stopping by to let you know I haven't seen any issues with 1.2.3.0 other than the normal grey screen at connect with Windows 10 (Been happening for a while, not sure which version it started with). I have to hit the refresh button on the viewer and it works fine after that.

Re: Little viewer updates
How about the chat, blank remote screen, and block remote input?
Also as a FYI, if you mouse over the switch monitor button in fullscreen it's mis-spelled.

Re: PCI-DSS
I believe as long as you enable and use the encryption component you should be in compliance. I would check with an official source though.

uVNC Remote Control
Just announcing here my little aid I wrote for work originally. It's called uVNC Remote Control. Basically you put in a computer name, it copies the server to the remote computer and starts it with a randomly generated password, then launches the viewer to connect.
It uses uVNC, ADFind, and PAExec ...

Unlock remote workstation
The ability to unlock a remote workstation once the service has started and the remote computer screen is visible. Feature from Atelier Web Remote Commander Pro, I;m sure UVNC could manage this as well when installed as a service.

ddengine(64).dll need to be in the same folder as winvnc.exe
On win10, you can remove schook and vnchook when the ddengine does it job you don't need them.

Re: Release 1.2.2.1
Rudi,
Where do you enable the ddengine in the options? I see it in the Properties Window as being checked, but upon mouse-over the server icon in the system tray it doesn't show the ddengine like in your screenshot.

Re: Version 1.2.2.0
Haven't changed any of the server's versions yet... most are running 1.0.9.6.2 (at least a couple at 1.0.2, and there might still be a 1.0.8something? though I might have got all those moved up to 1.0.9.6.2 as well) hmm, ok. Thanks for the info

Re: Version 1.2.2.0
Rudi,
Question:
Does the server automatically use the vnchooks.dll or ddengine.dll if it sees them in the directory with it or do they require an install or regsvr32 to register the DLL's?

Ability to chat without viewing remote screen
Like the above says. You can connect to remote computer, but not view the screen, just opens up the chat window, there would be a button on the chat to allow the remote viewing to start. Basically an alternative to the connection pop-up window the end user sees to allow the connection. That can be ...

Re: Version 1.2.2.0
Is the ddengine.dll required for 8> like the vnchooks.dll for 7<? or is that optional? RIght now I push the vncserver.exe and a custom ini file for that, install as a service and connect to the remote PC, I haven't been copying the vnchooks.dll either, seems to work OK.
