YY,
Thanks very much for taking the time to compose such a clear answer. I can't wait to get home to try it, it has been driving me crazy for ages. I have tried numerous combinations with no result.
Thanks again, will let you know how I get on.
Cheers

Re: Java Viewer via ASUS W-Fi Router connection problem
How does this work if I have chosen different port forwards for UVNC and UVNCJava. e.g. normally you'd go 1. Internal/External UVNC Java = 5800=>5800 = Server IP XX.XX.XX.XX 2. Internal/External UVNC = 5900=>5900 = Server IP XX.XX.XX.XX So that e.g. you'd use http://no-ip.com.mypc:5800 and it would ...

Re: Repeater version 1.0 responds differently
redge, I have been through a LOT of posts on this, and I am still confused. There's a repeater.exe and a distributor.exe It "seems", although they look very much alike, that: a. repeater.exe is for connecting using UVNC b. distributor.exe is for connecting using PVHW (although for simplicity lets ...

If you're going to put anything new into the upcoming 1.04 release, I'd still like to see this!!

Re: Sooooo slooooow!
Does this slow behaviour on Windows VISTA also manifest iteself using the repeater, rather than SC? My XP SP2 was fine, Vista is really slow.
The Tips for Speeding up VISTA\ XP in the FAQ appear to only pertain to speeding up the OS, not the UVNC experience. Any tips for that?

Re: Hostnames for Repeater in Only Allow Connection to Serve
I had occasion to install 1.04RC12 on my wife's PC and realised I STILL would very much like to see this implemented. How about throwing it into the new RC, that's be really great, thanks!

Faulting application winvnc.exe ... faulting MSRC4Plugin ?
Apologies for the double post (was posted in Bugfixes for Rel 1.0.x) , I thought perhaps the moderator/authors of the other plugin only monitors this forum. Not sure if this is a winvnc issue or Plugin one, but this seems to be a common record in my Application Event Viewer. Any ideas? k. Faulting ...

Re: New modified repeater
I still use repeater. I'd like to see it continued, and updated to help identify errors such as "failed to resolve locally".
This (my) [topic=6829][/topic] requests a similar thing, i.e. Hostnames for Repeater.
Any chance of an update?

k, It is possible to use single click without any encyption. Just remove the plugin switch in your helpdesk file and remove the plugin use in the viewer..:) Thanks bevtech, yup, I know that works as per point 2 above ... 2. When I have VNCViewer listening on 5500, with NO PLUGIN, Single click works ...

Hostnames for Repeater in Only Allow Connection to Server
Hi Point 11 of the repeater pdf guide notes that ONLY IP addresses are permitted in the field "Only Allow Connection to Server". I'd really like to see hostnames permitted :-) I'm curious as to why it can't do this i.e. why it can't be a local hostname (name of my PC)? I connect with a local ...

Ah, I see, Thank you for that, what a relief! And thanks for putting in what seems to be an enormous effort on your part to answer a LOT of Q's. Whew, it's always nice to know it is failing by design, rather than by my own ineptitude! So I guess it's: Multiple Connections possible WITHOUT DSM Plugin ...

DSM Plugin in use by a normal connection => locked for SC
I'm testing SC remotely with an established VNC connection. I might be attempting something incorrect here, so what I'd like to know is if this behaviour is by design and whether there are better approaches to do this. 1. I am at my work computer, and have established a working connection with home ...

My experience is identical to digbyk's, except it has happened two days in a row. Worked fine all morning, then I got the could not negotiate protocol message. Maybe it doesn't work late :-) As for digbyk, reboot at home solved the lockup which meant I could login again today. How can I troubleshoot ...

SC Server SAYS it connects but disappears i.e. No Icon?
Hi, I'm a complete beginner, so please bear with me. I have VNC Working from Home to Office No Problem, so am using the same port to accept an SC connection from a recently compiled SC Server. Compiled OK, I run it, click, and for a millisecond or so I see the balloon which says "Conenction Active ...
