There is a similar effect when you try and use 1.1.8 on a PC with Terminal Server software (TSPlus) installed.

When I connect to the PC itself (not a VM running on the PC, but the actual server) then I can only get 16 colours if the mirror driver is running. If I stop the mirror driver, I get full ...
