remove dev : Will do, just spending all my time on tracing bug reports

Someone insisted on changing the default location to %appdata%
1) vncviewer.exe folder is used
2) When this folder is not writable, %appdata% is used
3) when this folder has no write access %TEMP% is used

Verified the src CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA %programdata% isn't used

The viewer has a default, but ...

8 colors

If you set 8 colors and save and connect to a server.
close viewer
open viewer and select same host
Are the 8 colors set or is the value lost ?

Can you also provide the UltraVNC Viewer display settings?
There are a lot of options.

What do you want 2x 2K displayed on 2x HD resized or with scrollbars?
Are you using the DDEngine, should be indicated by the Viewer?

@wojtek: "AutoAcceptIncoming = 1" is still the correct parameter, just tested.
This can be set via Viewer -> Options -> Security

Server need to be SC or a full server started with -sc_prompt and the viewer need to have "AutoAcceptIncoming = 1" set to show this box

@Jojo67: %AppData%\UltraVNC -> Settings per server
options.vnc -> Same vncviewer.exe folder

packagefactory : That part has been refactored to make it look like how it's implemented in the other VNC flavors.
It was not possible to keep it backward compatible.
QuerySetting 2 and 4 is now just off/on.

Please take a look at the graphic interface, all combinations are possible and you also ...

@andr_ua: The commanline you are using would be helpfull, without I don't know if you are using the correct parameters or if there still is something wrong with the .MSI.

@kdh4318: Custom message will be fixed in 1.6.1.0. I will put it online in a few days.

@vbultravnc: There is a "UltraVNC Server settings" shortcut when you used the installer or in command line "winvnc.exe -settings".

@lwc: I didn't found any time to test it, if you want, I can send a UltraVNC SC build but I didn't wanted to postpone the release only because UltraVNC SC wasn't tested.

UltraVNC Server running as Service :
ultravnc.ini is in ProgramData
Current there is an admin password that's needed by all non-admin users to access the settings
Administrators can read/write any files in ProgramData and are able to manual change all settings, that's the reason we don't ask the ...

VNCHELP890, seems to work fine on my PC (Windows 11)

1.5.0.3 -> ultravnc.ini is in Program Files
Uninstalling 1.5.0.3 also remove this file

1.5.0.13 -> ultravnc.ini is in ProgramData or AppData
on uninstall this file is not removed

Normal when Viewer/Server are the same UltraVNC version this should work.
This is the default behaviour after install.

The settings in 1.5.x.x show the location of the config file
Pre 1.5.0 this is next to the winvnc.exe

Start stop install uninstall wrks from the tray (desktop user is local admin)
You get the elevation popup (UAC) to gain the correct permissions, stop takes 5s on my system.

There was en error in version 1.5.0.13 that killed the server when using "custom message" popup.
Will also be fixed in 1.5.0.14
