Re: Beta 1002

mrreload,

Found, in XP you need to do special things in the source to use some gui stuff, if not it just doesn't create a window...LOL.
The DOTNETT4 stuff isn't needed, i tested in on XP version without DOTNET4 installed and that seems to work, only installer
3.1 seems to be required, but that ...

Re: Beta 1002

Still having the issue with the viewer apparently not reading the .ini file after the first launch. I am using a custom groupname and password.

Scratch that, found that my system didn't get the new version originally. Redownloading resolved. It now asks for password everytime. :D

Re: Beta 1002

Thanks Rudi,
Found another item, Installing server in XP results in server setting unable to launch. It does prompt for and install DOTNET 4. Then reboots and continues the install. But still unable to launch. Also it does not allow for Custom groupname during install, just goes to default.
On a ...

Re: Beta 1002

Initially this newer version worked but now I am having he same issue. Hitting the refresh button has no effect. The viewer just does not connect.

How would I go about doing a fresh install? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it appears the settings do not get erased.

Should I be using ...

Re: Beta 1002

Bug
I cannot successfully run the Viewer 2 times in a row. It fails to connect to the group. It works on the first launch when it asks to setup the Group Name and password but not after closing it. I have to delete the .ini files to start over.

Re: Rebuilt with 1.9.0RC1?

So far, my test all turn out positive. I think the connection issue when installed as a Service with 1.0.8.2 is fixed also. BUT this i will continue testing. SecureVNCPlugin is working well in my setup also.

Re: Rebuilt with 1.9.0RC1?

I am testing 1.09 RC1 within ChunkVNC right now. I will report back with details later.

Oh, I also modified ChunkVNC to use the SecureVNCPlugin instead of MS_RC4. I like getting prompted for a Complex and Lengthy password on connection.
So far so good, just need to refine the compiler.au3 a bit ...

Re: ChunkVNC server not "checking-in" with repeate

This is a issue myself and several others have run across with 1.0.8.2 of winvnc.exe (the server). You can resolve by just dropping in version 1.0.8.0. get the binaries from http://www.uvnc.com/download/1080/1080full.html

Re: ChunkVNC installed as service - Stops working

OS: XP Pro Sp3
Installed for about 2 days
worked fine and then just stopped.

It is possible there was a prolonged internet outage (client side) that proceeded this.

I too am experiencing this issue. 1.0.8.0 makes it better but does not seem to resolve it. :(

Re: ChunkVNC Upcoming Features and Requests

My tests of the viewer with Wine under Ubuntu indicate it works well enough from a supporters standpoint.
But a native Linux Server and Viewer would be awesome.

Re: File Transfer issue

The repeater was the issue. I switched to the Perl script version and File transfers are reliable now.
FYI repeater from FreeBSD ports = BAD.

Re: File Transfer issue

I forgot I did test from physical machine to physical machine.
Windows 7 "laptop" (viewer) to my work XP desktop (server)

I guess that only leaves the repeater. I will try the supplied repeater and the Perl version I found around this forum somewheres.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, it is possible now. I am currently running the repeater on FreeBSD and have run it on Ubuntu as well.

File Transfer issue

I was testing the File Transfer feature and it works fine on smaller files. However, it seems to crash the server on the larger files I've tried. I tested with zip files ranging from >300kb to 2.5mb. Crash occurs on those files over 1mb.
Symptoms of crash.
1. File Transfer stalls
2. If you kill the ...

Re: A (Potentially) Serious Script Issue

Crud, I got bit by this last night. I was hoping to find this was a known issue and what may have caused it. Funny, but I don't remember running ChunkVNC.exe seperately last night although I did a few days ago. My tests will only be done in VMs from now on.
I really think this project is the ...

Re: ChunkVNC "Fork"

I also found the behavior for the Service Install option is not prompting for ID# to use, Like the Standard Chunk VNC does. It does remember the last ID but it would be great to allow changing of it.

Re: ChunkVNC "Fork"

I really love this, especially the easier re-branding. BUT, how can a tech cope without the minimize button? In my tests the ID window is always on top and interferes with usage. How can I add this back in?
