Re: Setting quality

Hi Marius

In case you still interested, find the chunkvnc.ini in the Source\UltraVNC folder and change the Quality to something like 6 (or higher. I don't know what the max is). It worked for me.

Re: Stable ChunkVNC Repeater - Perl Script

Thanks for the quick response Rat. I did comment out the setpgrp lines as my first step and the script did run but it kept looping in the log file about an error with the PID coupled with the fact that I could not use it to connect (which I now realise is probably because my viewer is set to use ...

Re: Stable ChunkVNC Repeater - Perl Script

Hi

Has anyone managed to port this script to Windows? I am currently getting the error below:

Code: Select all

The setpgrp() function is unimplemented at E:\WWW\MyWebSite\ultravnc_repeater.pl line 245.
I have tried googling but as my knowledge of perl is next to nothing, I am having a bit of trouble with it.

Hi Regi

As supercoe initially suggested, can you try uninstalling your firewall/antispyware software. I know you said you turned it off, but for some reason that isn't enough in all cases.

Re: Lack of control connecting to Win 7 PC

I have also noticed that when the UAC prompt comes up, the user can see it, but you can't see it on your screen. This is why I suggested it was a UAC issue. Interestingly today I found that Kaspersky prevents you from controlling it remotely. User had the screen open in the taskbar, when I brought ...

Sounds like UAC. Are you sure there aren't any prompts coming up? Try disabling the antivirus. I assume you use a different AV at work and at home which may explain why it works in reverse. Just my guess.

Re: Repeater crash on Win 2003 Server

The only ports I have in settings are 5901 and 5500. I also have Enable Mode II enabled.

Would it be of any use to anyone if I attached the crash dumps that it tries to send to MS?

Re: Repeater crash on Win 2003 Server

2003 server 64bit or 32bit? My repeater will crash sometimes (XP pro sp3 32bit) if I leave clients connected for a long time after installing as a service on their computer... Interesting you should say that. After having been using Chunk for weeks without ever getting kicked out of a session, I ...

It creates an uninstall shortcut on the desktop. Just run that. It will kick you off once you run it of course.

I won't turn this thread into an argument so we'll agree to disagree (or at least I will). many of which actually work a bit better than the current VNC series of programs Please do share. Re: License Issue?

Sigh. Here we go, yet again. Apparently, instead of moving towards a more open code base with the next version, Rudi and the development team are going to use yet another restrictively licensed technology and release the next UltraVNC with a modified GPL license. Re: Repeater as Service

I'm running it on W2003 server. I notice that the service does crash quite often, but I have it set to restart on failure and that's good enough. I haven't even looked into why it's crashing and only assume it does because the system tray icon appears more than once then when I hover my mouse over ...

Re: Repeater Problem

I had this problem when I was running the repeater as an application and it would hang because the repeater had "crashed". Could probably have something to do with the fact I ran it from a TS Session. Either way, I have been running the repeater in service mode and so far all is happy (well I am ...

Re: ChunkVNC Upcoming Features and Requests

Hi, a very minor request which you may or may not be able to do, but is there a way to put in some sort of authentication so that people can't just use my repeater? Obviously the authentication would have to be built in to the app, rather than requiring either end to type in a password.

Hi Supercoe, can I just confirm you don't recommend this because you haven't tested it, or because there is a known problem with running it as a service?

Nevertheless I have installed it as a service on my server and will see how it goes.

Hi First of all great app and thank you for sharing it. I have tested this with my Windows 7 machine last night (after spending several hours reading and configuring) and it seems not to work with UAC. Basically I tried to install a program and the UAC prompt came up but I could not see it or ...
