Connecting to Ubuntu (linux) servers

I just tried UltaVNC Viewer 1.0.8.2 with several servers and the only ones giving me trouble are Unbuntu 9.10 machines. Is anyone else having success using UltraVNC to control Ubuntu 9.10 machines?

Since VNC server is installed by default in recent Ubuntu versions I would think this would work. I ...
