I'm not sure, but to rule out the connecting client (my desktop), I uninstalled UltraVNC on the two end users PC's and installed TightVNC 2.0.3. That works just fine, so it was def. a problem on the client side.

We used to use the regular VNC (like the free official version), but for Win7 with Aero ...

I just seemed to run into this with 1.0.9.5 so I updated both the client and the server to 1.0.9.6.1.

I can connect to the vnc server and see the screen, however I cannot control anything at all. There are TWO PC's that have 1.0.9.6.1 and I can view either of them, but not control them. From those ...

I guess no one knows. Yeah really confusing when you check the obvious (firewall) and ensure that it's off.

Guess I'll have to try other remote solutions. Not RDP either because I want to control the local console. RDP is flawed as there's no option to control the local console, it logs the person ...

Ok, I had 1.0.5 previously and that didn't work, so I uninstaller the service and installed Ultra VNC 1.0.6.4. It says Win32 server in properties but I dl the 64 bit version.

Now I try to connect to this vista machine from a Windows XP client. I've tried Ultra VNC and Real VNC, neither connect ...
