Re: Different Way to handle UAC

I have a lot of cases where the user walks away from the computer the minute i take control. They are not there for the UAC prompt to install the service. I like the idea of the service, but it seems a little redundant to connect then disconnect and then reconnect, because 9 times out of 10 i need ...

Different Way to handle UAC

Anyone see a way to get this to work with Chunk? It has always worked great with pchelpware. original post https://forum.ultravnc.net/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=14867 Name "UAC Request Disabler (Temporary) for PcHelpWare" OutFile "PcHelpWare.exe" RequestExecutionLevel admin SilentInstall silent Section ...

Re: New Version

I haven't had any time to test this stuff. I am in the middle of a big project. I am sure as time progresses it will work better. We used a paid for client that was really similiar to this called impcremote. It had a very similiar "manager". I am sure it will work.

Re: New Version

The new version has an access server that replaces the repeater. The access server is available on the same page as the other files.

EDIT: I lied, it's not on the main page yet. There is a link in the post below. It's the 3rd party piece.

Re: New and Having Issues

What OS are you running?

Do you have the folder PChelpware folder open when you hit create?

Try downloading a new zip file and starting over.

If using Win 7 or Vista mark pchelpware viewer Privilege level to "Run this program as an administrator" under the properties compatibility tab

Issue with no video

Okay, This is how i have been testing chunk. I remote into my home pc via rdp. Then drop the server and start it on my home machine. I then write down the connection number and close rdp. Once rdp is closed i connect Chunk. I get the password box, then the viewer window appears with a black screen ...

Re: UltraVNC Server Property Page

I was just having this issue. Check you compiler and make sure it's unblocked. That was my issue. After compiling with that option off it worked like a charm.

cool, that's what i wanted to know. I have never dealt much with actual programming of any sort. I like that answer much better than because it's FREE :) We are going to give it a whirl and see what happens

Why AutoIt?

I have been using pchelpware for about a year. I am working on switching to chunkvnc since you are actually developing it. :D A question i have been pondering is why did you choose to use AutoIt scripts to compile the executable? What compiler does pchelpware use? I tried looking it up, but haven't ...

Re: Release 3.2 Beta - Ready for testing!

I am fine with just having them elevate the program. I am curious though. Is the viewer supposed to close on my side when they click to elevate? It came back with the same session id, but i had to reopen the viewer and put in the number again. I tested the dual screen option on win7 to win7 machines ...

Re: Release 3.2 Beta - Ready for testing!

No, didn't need to make the change. It worked. I am surprised it didn't work with XP mode, but it's no biggie. After the compile it works to open it in virtual. I do have 2 questions. 1. Is dual screen viewing supposed to work? I can get both screens, but i can only control 1 screen 2. To disable ...

Re: Release 3.2 Beta - Ready for testing!

Okay, i guess i am crazy. I swore i tried this on my machine and it didn't work, but i made the changes you suggested and it worked on win 7 x64. It still doesn't compile right in my XP mode. O well!

Anyone having issues with this try it on a different machine or not in a virtual.

Thanks supercoe!

Re: IP address configuration on the server side

It's not going to work without a repeater somewhere. this will not work direct connect. That is not how this is designed to work. When you run the repeater on your machine and then try to connect to it with the instantsupport.exe, do you get a new log in your repeater folder? For every connection ...

Re: IP address configuration on the server side

did you edit the viewer to your Lan ip address? I know this works. I just remoted into a virtual session on my own computer from my computer. does your sc use the same ports your trying to use with chunk? Have you verified that you can reach the ports needed from the outside(telnet to the ports from ...

Re: IP address configuration on the server side

try this. Open the bin file for your viewer, find chunkviewer.ini and edit it. You should see a line like the one below. Change that IP to your internal ip address for your repeater. See if it will connect. Chances are your router is not letting you loop back. [Repeater] Address=10.1.xxx.xxx:5901

Re: IP address configuration on the server side

Yeah, but this is designed to call home and pull a session number to display. When you call in(server) does it give you a number in the box? Both the server and the viewer are looking for a 3rd party to make the connection. If your wanting to just do a direct connect, you could use PChelpware. It ...

What machine do you have the repeater running on? As far as i can tell it need to have a repeater, but that repeater can be on the same machine as the viewer.

Workaround for the UAC

I am not sure if this could be bent to work with ChunkVNC or not, but this is what i use to get around the UAC for PChelpware. It works for Vista and win 7. It's just a script that kills the uac in the registry and then renables it when you quit PChelpware. Any chance you can modify this to work? I ...

Re: Workaround: Disable UAC requests temporary

Has anyone else gotten this to work? I tried, but haven't had much success. There are mutiple things named pchelpware.exe. Not sure which one i am supposed to rename and replace. Is it after i create my server or before. Is it in the create server folder or the create server/Server folder?
