Compiling the source code... anyone done it?

What I am trying to do is compile the source code for UltraVNC SC.
I'm not trying to make an SC package... that's easy.
I'm actually trying to compile the source code that is the VNC server.

I have been looking high and low for someone that has done this, but mostly I have found a bunch of posts ...
