Well I used my laptop (which is rarley used) and I had no problems. This leads me to believe that it was definitely something on my end with my machine. I'm going to rescan it for viruses/malware and then try and see what I can find with compatibility issues pertaining to my graphics card.

That seems rather futile to me because that is the whole premise on me wanting to connect to alot of people's machines. I did try running it in Safe Mode and that is actually where i had the better results. better results being 10 ...

Well I tried using your SC and it still locked me up. this time however I seemed to have about 10 mins in between each crash and the client end would remain OK. I'm now leaning towards an issue with my own my machine. Should I try to update or try different drivers? i'm at work so I'm not sure what ...

Interesting Radeon. I did forget to mention... both machines are XP SP2 and the client machine (my dad's) is running McAfee Virus scan enterprise 8.5.0i

that thread seems to be focused on Vista mainly. So i'm not sure what could be relevant other than the perhaps McAfee not liking the sc.exe ...
